TERESA SAPEY

Teresa Sapey is an Italian architect and designer. After completing her architectural studies at the Polytechnic University of Turin in 1985, she obtained a Fine Arts degree from the Parson School of Design in Paris and a master's degree in La Villette. She moved to Madrid in 1990 and established her own studio. She has been a professor at the European Institute of Design and a visiting professor at numerous international universities, including McGill Montreal, Carleton University in Ottawa, the University of Waterloo in Toronto, and Domus Academy in Milan.

Sapey has received numerous awards worldwide. These include the AD Award, the Wallpaper Award, the “Women Together” Award from the European Union, the Grand Officer title of the Order of the Star of Italy presented by the Italian Government, and the 2022 Archiproducts Award.

Teresa Sapey has completed numerous luxury residential projects in cities such as Monaco, Gstaad, Marbella, Palma de Mallorca, New York, and Venice. She has also designed lifestyle-focused hotels for brands like Room Mate, Intercontinental, and Nhow; and has brought a fresh perspective to non-urban spaces with projects such as the Hotel Puerta de America's car park and Madrid's Christmas lights.

In addition, she has collaborated with design brands such as Vondom, Isimar, Coordonne, and Diabla. She describes her working approach as follows: “I aim to create unforgettable emotions by working with space and materials. Adding value to the user, context, and client is also a fundamental priority for me.”
